Friends of Fisher House Orlando, along with their Honorary Chairman Coach Lou Holtz, are pleased to announce the dedication and opening of the new Orlando Fisher House. Emceed by WFTV’s Greg Warmoth, the opening ceremony for the new Orlando Fisher House will take place on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The Orlando Fisher House, located at the Orlando VA Medical Center in Lake Nona, will provide
a comforting, first-class “home away from home” for the family members and caretakers of active-duty military and veterans while their loved ones receive necessary health care and adjust to their new environment – all at no cost to the service members or their families.

At the Orlando Fisher House, facilities generate connection and community through shared areas such as a common kitchen, laundry facilities, dining room, and living room. The Fisher House Foundation ensures that there is never a lodging fee for guests. Since its inception, the program has saved military and veterans’ families an estimated $360+ million in out-of- pocket costs for lodging and transportation.
