The Orlando Fisher House is one of 97+ comfort homes across the United States built by the Fisher House Foundation. Military and Veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving medical treatment. These homes are located at major military and VA medical centers, usually within walking distance of the medical facility.
The Orlando Fisher House is a 16-suite comfort home located at the Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona, serving the following Central Florida counties: Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Lake, Volusia and Brevard.

George Denby Jr, Fisher House Manager
George Denby was announced as the new Fisher House Manager at the Orlando VA Medical Center in June 2022. Originally from Washington, DC. Retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years and started Civil Service career in 2008. Worked for Departments of Defense and Veteran Affairs in multiple administrative capacities before coming to the Fisher House. Married for over 30 years to Tina Denby (former VA Nurse) and we have three grown children and four grandchildren. I am extremely humbled and proud to take on this position and continue to provide service to our Veterans and their families.

Orlando VA Medical Center
Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona
As the Veterans population in Orlando and surrounding areas expanded, the Veterans Administration identified the need for a larger medical center in support of our Veterans. This resulted in the building of the new Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona. In concert with the building of this new medical center, the Fisher House Foundation identified the need for the Orlando Fisher House at Lake Nona to support our service members and their families. Friends of Fisher House Orlando was established to support the mission of the Orlando Fisher House and our Veterans, active duty Service Members, and their families.

The Friends of Fisher House Orlando is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization established solely to support the Orlando Fisher House at the Orlando VA Medical Center, Lake Nona, in support of our Military Veterans and Active Duty Service Members and their families. The Orlando Fisher House serves Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Lake, Volusia and Brevard counties.
Our mission is to provide financial support and resources to meet humanitarian needs of families during their stay. We support the Orlando Fisher House in a variety of ways: building awareness, building relationships in the community, building a volunteer base, advocacy and fundraising.
